“Who Killed Bambi?” KDiC - Music Video
By Abi and Claire MeekelIn ‘Who Killed Bambi?,’ the death of innocence and the destruction of purity are explored through a kitchen setting, traditionally associated with nurturing and order. The mundane act of washing cabbage transforms into a sudden murder scene, symbolizing the intense nature of existence. The bloodied knife represents a metaphorical ‘murder,’ possibly of innocence or tranquility, while cleaning with soap suggests attempts to conceal chaos—an effort to suppress disturbance.
The video concludes with a spotless kitchen, hinting at either a successful cover-up or the notion that the disturbance was merely a dark, uncomfortable thought. This eerie return to normalcy reflects the human tendency to mask troubles and uncomfortable truths behind a façade of order and control. The chaotic and nonsensical nature of the world, along with the urgency depicted in the video, mirrors historical and present tragedies. The title pays homage to the Sex Pistols, adding an ode to punk rock’s rebellious ethos
